Patriot Press Week of 3/23-3/27

Principal's Message

Dear Patriot Families,

We have an exciting week ahead at school and wanted to share a few important reminders with you.

Our Talent Show will take place this Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing our students showcase their amazing talents and hope you can join us for this special evening.

On Wednesday, March 25, we will have Spring and Promotion Pictures. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed and ready for their photos.

This week also marks the last week before Spring Break. As we approach the break, we encourage all students to remain focused, continue putting forth their best effort, and stay engaged in their learning.

Additionally, PTO is currently accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 school year. Please scan the QR code to nominate yourself or someone else. Our PTO does so much to support our students, and we look forward to continuing this important work together. Nominations will be open through Monday, April 6th.

Thank you for your continued support. We appreciate your partnership in helping our students finish strong before the break.

Warmly,

Mrs. Durham

Dress Code Policy

Running Club Update

For those students who participate in the Running Club- practice is cancelled this Tuesday, March 24.

Color Run Winners

Congratulations to the 2 classes that raised the most money overall and won a pizza party from PTO:

  • 1st place- Ms. Yllanes' class
  • 2nd place- Mrs. Elizarrez's class

Congratulations to Iris Martinez! She collected the most donations for the Color Run and has earned Knott's Berry Farm tickets!

Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy

Just a friendly reminder about phones and smart watches on campus. Per our Parent Handbook:

CELL PHONES: Cell phones and electronics are discouraged from being brought to school. Cell phones and electronics are not to be out (visible) or used during the school day without the prior permission of an administrator or their designee. Smart watches with the ability of communications, camera/video, or games/apps will be treated like phones and must be turned off/disabled during the school day. Student cell phones and/or smart watches may be collected by the teacher and held in a safe location until the end of the school day. The first violation of inappropriate use of a cell phone will result in the item being taken away for the remainder of the day and parents being notified. Further violations will result in the item being taken away and requiring the parent/guardian to pick it up from the school. The school is not responsible for personal items that are brought to school by students.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Drop Off and Pick Up

We appreciate your continued support in following our drop-off and pick-up procedures. As a reminder:

  • The parking lot on the south side of the school are designated for staff only.

  • Please do not park in the driveway or along the red curbs, as this blocks access and prevents staff from entering the lot safely.

  • All student drop-offs and pick-ups should take place in the front of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our campus safe and running smoothly.

Attendance

We appreciate you getting your child to school on time. Let's keep striving for our goal of 97%.

Tips to Improve Attendance

Build a Backup Plan for Getting to School

Unexpected things happen. Consider having a backup plan if transportation falls through, such as:

  • A trusted neighbor

  • Another family member

  • A carpool partner

Having a plan helps ensure your child still gets to school.

*Reminder: after 10 absences, we will require a medical note to excuse an absence.

For the week of 3/16-3/20, we had a high number of tardies on Monday and Tuesday. The amount then declined as the week went on.

As a reminder, the late bell rings at 7:50 a.m. Students should be in their seats in class at that time. Your help in getting your child to school on time is greatly appreciated!
