Patriot Press Week of 4/7- 4/10

Principal's Message

Dear Patriot Families,

As we return from Spring Break, I hope your family had the opportunity to relax, spend time together, and enjoy a well-deserved break. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready to finish the year strong.

When we return on Tuesday, April 7th, students will be preparing for the state test, which will begin on Tuesday, April 14th. This is an important time for our students, and we want to ensure everyone is set up for success. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time each day. Once testing has begun, students will not be admitted into the classroom if the test session has already started, and they will need to make up the test at a later time.

We also ask that you take a few moments to review behavior and academic expectations with your child. Reminding students to be responsible, respectful, and safe helps our school run smoothly and supports a positive testing environment for all students. .

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate all you do to help your child and our school be successful. Have a wonderful and safe Spring Break!

Additionally, PTO is currently accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 school year. Please scan the QR code or use this link to nominate yourself or someone else.

Our PTO does so much to support our students, and we look forward to continuing this important work together. Nominations will be open through Monday, April 6th.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate all you do to help your child and our school be successful.

Warmly,

Mrs. Durham

Dress Code Policy

Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy

Just a friendly reminder about phones and smart watches on campus. Per our Parent Handbook:

CELL PHONES: Cell phones and electronics are discouraged from being brought to school. Cell phones and electronics are not to be out (visible) or used during the school day without the prior permission of an administrator or their designee. Smart watches with the ability of communications, camera/video, or games/apps will be treated like phones and must be turned off/disabled during the school day. Student cell phones and/or smart watches may be collected by the teacher and held in a safe location until the end of the school day. The first violation of inappropriate use of a cell phone will result in the item being taken away for the remainder of the day and parents being notified. Further violations will result in the item being taken away and requiring the parent/guardian to pick it up from the school. The school is not responsible for personal items that are brought to school by students.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Drop Off and Pick Up

We appreciate your continued support in following our drop-off and pick-up procedures. As a reminder:

  • The parking lot on the south side of the school are designated for staff only.

  • Please do not park in the driveway or along the red curbs, as this blocks access and prevents staff from entering the lot safely.

  • All student drop-offs and pick-ups should take place in the front of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our campus safe and running smoothly.

Attendance

We appreciate you getting your child to school on time. Let's keep striving for our goal of 97%.

Tips to Improve Attendance

Avoid Extending Weekends or Vacations

Try to plan family trips during school breaks instead of extending weekends or taking extra days off. Missing multiple school days can make it harder for students to catch up with learning.

*Reminder: after 10 absences, we will require a medical note to excuse an absence.

For the week of 3/23-3/27, we had a high number of tardies on Wednesday and Thursday.

As a reminder, the late bell rings at 7:50 a.m. Students should be in their seats in class at that time. Your help in getting your child to school on time is greatly appreciated!

Tip of the week:

 Create Consistent Routines at Home

Students do better at school when they have routines at home.

  • Set a regular bedtime

  • Pack backpack the night before

  • Lay out clothes

  • Eat breakfast

Routines build responsibility.
