Patriot Press Week of 5/11 - 5/15

Principal's Message

Dear Patriot Families,

Thank you to everyone who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week so special for our teachers! Your children are the reason our teachers come to work each day and give their very best to support, encourage, and inspire them. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Guzman for generously donating a delicious lunch from Red Lobster for our teachers. We truly appreciate your kindness and support!

We look forward to welcoming you to Open House this week on Tuesday, May 12th from 6:00–7:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit your child’s classroom, view their work, and celebrate all of the learning and growth that has taken place throughout the school year.

We are currently taking nominations for School Site Council. We are in need of one member. Please use the following link to make a nomination. Nominations will be accepted through this Thursday, May 14th. The voting link will be shared through Parent Square once nominations have been accepted.

We also have our last PTO meeting this Thursday, May 14th, at 2:40 pm. We will be voting on the new board for the 26-27 school year.

This Friday is our Staff vs. 6th Grade Softball Game. If you would like to join the staff team, please call the office and let us know. We would love to have you join us — the more, the merrier!

I am looking forward to a fantastic last 2 weeks of school!

Warmly,

Mrs. Durham

Dress Code Policy

Cell Phone/Smart Watch Policy

Just a friendly reminder about phones and smart watches on campus. Per our Parent Handbook:

CELL PHONES: Cell phones and electronics are discouraged from being brought to school. Cell phones and electronics are not to be out (visible) or used during the school day without the prior permission of an administrator or their designee. Smart watches with the ability of communications, camera/video, or games/apps will be treated like phones and must be turned off/disabled during the school day. Student cell phones and/or smart watches may be collected by the teacher and held in a safe location until the end of the school day. The first violation of inappropriate use of a cell phone will result in the item being taken away for the remainder of the day and parents being notified. Further violations will result in the item being taken away and requiring the parent/guardian to pick it up from the school. The school is not responsible for personal items that are brought to school by students.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Drop Off and Pick Up

We appreciate your continued support in following our drop-off and pick-up procedures. As a reminder:

  • The parking lot on the south side of the school are designated for staff only.

  • Please do not park in the driveway or along the red curbs, as this blocks access and prevents staff from entering the lot safely.

  • All student drop-offs and pick-ups should take place in the front of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our campus safe and running smoothly.

Attendance

We appreciate you getting your child to school on time. Let's keep striving for our goal of 97%.

Tips to Improve Attendance

Encourage Participation in School Activities

Students who feel connected through clubs, performances, or school events often feel more motivated to attend regularly.

*Reminder: after 10 absences, we will require a medical note to excuse an absence.

For the week of 5/4- 5/8, there was an improvement in attendance. Tardies continue to be an area of improvement.

As a reminder, the late bell rings at 7:50 a.m. Students should be in their seats in class at that time. Your help in getting your child to school on time is greatly appreciated!

5/19: Field Day

5/20: Minimum Day

Talk About Safety

Remind your child to:

  • Keep hands and feet to themselves
  • Tell an adult if they see something unsafe
